Hello, I’m Jean, the Director of Library and Career Services at Trinity. My role involves managing the library and its various services, ensuring it’s a welcoming and organized space for students. I help students check in and out books, shelve books, and catalog donations. Beyond that, I provide academic support as an academic mentor, assisting students with their studies. This includes helping with time management, prioritization, and ensuring students fully understand assignment instructions. I also guide students through the writing process, offering advice on drafting, reviewing, and editing papers.
Additionally, I support students in developing career readiness. I help them explore their career options based on their majors, build strong resumes, and even prepare for the job search process, whether it’s for part-time work or post-graduation opportunities. My approach is holistic, taking into account all aspects of wellness to ensure students succeed not just academically, but in their personal and professional lives as well. I also supervise students who work in the library and oversee volunteers and peer tutors. We’ve created spaces for both quiet study and a more social, relaxed environment.
Having spent over 30 years in higher education, I can confidently say that Trinity is the best place I’ve ever worked. The leadership here is exceptional, and being a Christian institution, we hold ourselves to a higher standard of behavior. I value the environment we foster at Trinity, where respect and care for others are a priority. I find my work rewarding because I get to help students succeed, and my background in mental health counseling allows me to offer a listening ear to students when they need support.
If you’re considering supporting the school, I encourage you to focus on what the potential donors are passionate about. When engaging with potential supporters, it’s important to find out what moves them—whether it’s scholarships, athletics, or something else—and align their passions with Trinity’s needs. If you’re unsure, don’t hesitate to discuss our most pressing needs, as any support is invaluable.
Overall, I’m incredibly grateful for my time at Trinity, and I look forward to continuing to support students as they grow in their faith and academics.
