Shaping Students’ Faith and Future
Dr. Bargerhuff serves as the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dean of the College, and Professor of Bible and Theology. With over a decade of experience at the college, he teaches a range of Bible electives, including surveys of biblical books and specialized courses in systematic theology, his area of expertise. Through these courses, he helps students understand the core truths of the Christian faith—God’s nature, salvation, and the mission of the church. Dr. Bargerhuff believes that a deep understanding of systematic theology shapes students’ identity, purpose, and calling as followers of Christ.
For Dr. Bargerhuff, the value of studying the Bible extends far beyond the classroom. He emphasizes the importance of a Bible major, even for students pursuing careers outside of ministry. A biblical worldview, he argues, equips students to engage thoughtfully with others, set priorities, and live out their faith in any profession. Whether students become pastors, teachers, or professionals in the marketplace, this approach instills a “mission mindset”—a sense of purpose that can be applied wherever they are planted.
Dr. Bargerhuff also highlights the collaborative nature of the Bible college’s mission. He likens the school to the body of Christ, where each member plays a vital role in advancing the kingdom of God. Just as the church relies on diverse gifts and callings, the college depends on contributions from donors, faculty, and staff to fulfill its mission. Faculty members, like Dr. Bargerhuff, equip students with solid academic training, while donors help provide the necessary resources to enhance educational and discipleship experiences. Together, they help create an environment where students are prepared to serve the church and the world.
Reflecting on his time as a pastor, Dr. Bargerhuff underscores the importance of adequate funding to ensure the college provides high-quality education. Hiring experienced faculty, offering enriching student experiences such as mission trips, and creating opportunities for spiritual formation require financial support. With these resources, the college can foster both academic excellence and deep discipleship—two crucial elements that equip students for ministry in the church and in their careers.
Ultimately, Dr. Bargerhuff sees the mission of the Bible College as one that supports the local church and equips students for faithful service wherever they go. By training students to live out their faith in all areas of life, the college contributes to the ongoing work of God’s kingdom.
I, Dr. Bargerhuff, invite you to help forge a future for Trinity College of Florida by supporting the college through financial support, prayers, and sending students to come and grow in the Lord.
