Krista S. Mallo earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature (2001) and Master of Arts in English Education (2004) from the University of South Florida, and she is currently pursuing a doctorate in English Education at the University of South Florida. She has been a Florida certified Professional Educator since 2001 in the areas of English and ESOL. At Trinity College of Florida, Professor Mallo serves as the General Studies department chair, overseeing both the Associate of Arts (two-year transfer degree) and the Bachelor of Arts in General Studies programs. She serves as the Director of the Student Learning Center, providing out-of-class cross-curricular support for all Trinity College of Florida students. She teaches Freshman Composition courses, as well as British and American Literature. She has published poetry in Meta: An Interdisciplinary Journal and The Effects of Grace: A Christian Anthology. Additionally, she has published scholarly articles and presented at conferences pertaining to the teaching of English at both the secondary and post-secondary levels. Professor Mallo is a strong advocate for parental choice in education, and she enjoys assisting homeschool families in planning curriculum and educational choices for their children and young adult students.
