My Journey to Trinity: A Path to Spiritual Growth

Hi my name is Vince, and my journey to Trinity started at Southeastern University (SEU), where I studied for a year. At first, I thought I was on the right path, but I quickly realized that something was missing—spiritual growth. I was there for pastoral ministry, yet I wasn’t growing in the ways I needed. Instead, I felt like I was being pulled away from my faith rather than strengthened in it.

I knew I needed a change. The environment at SEU didn’t challenge me spiritually, and I wasn’t surrounded by people who were serious about their walk with God. That’s when I made the decision to transfer to Trinity, a place where I could be part of a biblically grounded community and grow in my faith alongside others who shared the same purpose.

Even though I knew Trinity was where I needed to be, my journey here wasn’t a straight path. Family emergencies kept me from enrolling on campus right away, so I chose to study SEU online while staying home to support my family.

Family has always been important to me, and at that time, they needed me close. But I never lost sight of my goal, and when the time was finally right, I made the move to Trinity in the spring semester.

Since coming to Trinity, I’ve grown in ways I never expected. More than just academics, this school has taught me discipline, time management, and spiritual maturity—things I didn’t even realize I needed.

Now, my life has structure. My family often says, “You’re barely home!” and I just smile and tell them, “I’m at school, studying, doing my work.” But the truth is, that structure and discipline have benefited not just me, but my family as well. I’ve learned that being independent and committed to my calling has made me a stronger son, brother, and man of faith.

For anyone considering Trinity—especially those struggling with their purpose or unsure of where they belong—I would say, take the leap.

Trinity isn’t just about education; it’s about walking with Jesus and letting that guide every part of your life.
