Associate of Arts General Studies

Learning Outcomes:

1. A general knowledge of the content of Scripture.
2. A college-level competence in the general skills that form the foundation for all learning: reading, writing/composition, and critical thinking.
3. An introductory knowledge of Western culture integrating themes from history, science, philosophy, or literature.

Graduation Requirements:

1. Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 60 semester credit hours with at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average including completion of the Associate of Arts curriculum, Chapel, and Christian Service requirements. The final 30 credit hours and at least 50% of all major course credit hours must be completed in residence at Trinity College of Florida.
2. Satisfactory completion of all Trinity College of Florida assessment procedures.
3. Continued evidence of a consistent, genuine, Christian testimony.
4. Continued essential agreement with the Doctrinal Statement of Trinity College of Florida.
5. Satisfactory fulfillment of all financial obligations to Trinity College of Florida. No degree will be granted, or transcript provided to a student with an outstanding financial obligation to Trinity College of Florida. 
6. Affirmative recommendation for graduation by the faculty, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the Board of Trustees.

Associate of Arts Requirements (Total required credits: 60) Suggested Two-Year Schedule:

*Following the Admissions Assessment, the following courses: BIBL1101 Basics of Biblical Living (Fall), BIBL1102 Christian Belief and Scripture (Spring) may be required during the freshman year.

**Students may select a course in history, science, literature, psychology, communication, language, fine arts, or honors.

The Trinity Access Option for the Associate of Arts in General Studies is designed to give students flexibility in scheduling and pacing of the degree course requirements. Students selecting this degree option will meet all of
the graduation requirements for the Associate of Arts in General Studies, while also:

1. Maintaining a non-traditional schedule of courses, including evening and online courses, throughout the duration of the degree program.
2. Maintaining an advanced pace, with each course scheduled for eight weeks rather than the full length of the traditional semester.
3. Choosing either the traditional Chapel and Christian Service or following an approved alternative option. Alternative options must be approved through the office of Student Development.

Students are advised to follow one of the following course load timelines to complete the Trinity Access for the Associate of Arts in General Studies:

1. 15 credits in each of 4 semesters; OR
2. 15 credits in each of 2 semesters for the first year of the program, followed by six credits in the summer session, and 12 credits in each of 2 semesters of the second year; OR
3. 12 credits in each of four semesters along with 6 credits in each of two summer sessions.

Trinity College of Florida is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Association for Biblical Higher Education, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.

Every college and university has the right to decide what credits they will transfer in their programs. Trinity College uses the (SCNS) Numbering System. This numbering system is used by all public postsecondary institutions in Florida and by participating non-public institutions. The major purpose of this system is to facilitate the transfer of courses between participating institutions. Students and administrators can use the online SCNS to obtain course descriptions and specific information about course transfer between participating Florida institutions. Earning your AA (Associate in Arts in General Studies) is a great place to begin your educational journey. You will be in the same classes with the same professors as students attending on campus. Same curriculum, same requirements, same traditional semester.
