Trinity College Turns 80!

On September 20, 2012 Trinity College of Florida will celebrate 80 years of Christian higher education service.  On Wednesday, September 19, 2012 a special 80th Anniversary Chapel will be held on the College’s campus to commemorate this significant milestone.  Former President John Corts (1981-1986; class of 1956) will deliver the keynote address along with special musical performances by Richard Andrews (class of 2005) and selections from current Trinity students.  A luncheon will be held on campus for students, faculty, staff, alumni and invited guests that will feature a special 80th birthday cake.

Trinity College of Florida has several special events planned throughout the year to celebrate its eight decades of Christian higher education service.  The year-long theme of the College’s 80th Anniversary is:  The Family Together, Stronger.  The 80th Anniversary will culminate with a celebration weekend May 10-11, 2013 that will include the 80th commencement exercises, banquet and concert featuring the Annie Moses Band.  Additional details on these May 2013 events are forthcoming.

To begin the celebration, Trinity College of Florida will launch The E.C. Bragg Digital Library during the September 19th chapel.  This online library will allow users access to re-mastered audio lectures on a variety of theological topics and copies of long-time serving professor Dr. E.C. Bragg’s notes and writings.  Dr. Bragg was president and salutatorian of the first graduating class of the Florida Bible Institute (Trinity College) in 1934.  After graduation he pastored churches for eight years and returned to Trinity College in 1942 where he taught full-time until 1990.
