Former Board of Trustees' Chairman Passes
Rev. Dan Doyle, former Board of Trustee’s Chairman, passed away on December 29, 2009. Rev. Doyle was known as a quiet and compassionate man of faith who loved his family and was a friend to many. He graduated from Trinity College in 1968. As a former pastor and ministry leader, Rev. Doyle led several churches in the Florida Gulf Coast area. He served on the College’s Board of Trustees for six years and was elected Chairman in 1987 where he served for nearly four years as Chairman (November 20, 1987 – May 10, 1991).
His tenure as Chairman was marked by unique challenges as the College was simultaneously designing and building the New Port Richey campus and working to sell the former Dunedin Campus during a difficult real estate market. Chairman Doyle, always available, shouldered the heaviest of the burdens which were most unknown to others.
Rev. Doyle is survived by his wife Cheryl, son Dan, daughter Tracee, son-in-law Todd, as well as, his cherished grandchildren. Memorial services were held at the Redeemer Community Church in New Port Richey, FL.
