2011 Commencement

Trinity College of Florida’s 2011 Commencement Exercises will be held Saturday, May 14th at Living Word Church’s (5151 Rowan Road, New Port Richey, Florida) main sanctuary.  The graduation ceremony will begin at 10:00 am with doors opening at 9:00 am.  Guests of the graduates are encouraged to arrive early to ensure seating is available. Dr. Dwayne Mercer, former President of the Florida Baptist Convention and Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Oviedo will deliver the commencement address.   


Living Word Church 5151 Rowan Road, New Port Richey, FL 34653

From US 19 north: Proceed south and turn left (east) on Main Street New Port Richey. Stay on Main a couple of miles until you reach the stop light with a Seven Eleven on the left. Turn right onto Rowan and proceed south just past the next light (Plathe). Living Word is on your right.

From US 19 south: Proceed north and turn right (east) on SR 54. Come to the third stop light. Turn left onto Rowan Road and pass three quick stop lights. Church is on the left. 

From McMullen Booth or East Lake Road: Proceed north to CR 77. (You will turn left onto CR 77 at the light by a Chevron Gas Station.) Follow the road past a few lights and cross SR 54 where it becomes Rowan. Proceed past three quick stop lights. Church is on the left. 

From Little Road north: Proceed south across Ridge. The fourth light is Plathe. Turn right to the next light and turn left onto Rowan. Church is on your right. 

From SR 54 coming west: After you pass through the intersection at Little Road, which has a Hess Gas Station on your right, continue to the second light. Turn right onto Rowan, pass three quick stop lights. Church is on the left.

Commencement Speaker

Dr. Dwayne Mercer has been the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Oviedo since 1993.  Dr. Mercer has served as the President of the Florida Baptist Convention, and is an active board member for a number of Southern Baptist agencies. He is the host and featured speaker on the national television program “The Winning Edge.” He has also published a book on prayer entitled, “Getting God to Say Yes: 5 Keys to Answered Prayer.”

Dr. Mercer received his Bachelor of Science degree from Toccoa Falls Bible College, a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.  He and his wife, Pam, have three children.
